Edward Giel
Edward was the seventh child in his family out of nine and attended Richland school district growing up. He then continued his education at Robert Morris University for college. After school Edward joined the family business: Thomas V. Giel Garage Doors, Inc.
During the 1980’s, the founders & sons transformed the “mom and pop” shop into a corporation that today has over 43+ employees and 32+ full-time trucks to service their customers. Edward B. Giel assumed ownership and the corporate president position following his father’s retirement in 1989.
Edward married Jacqueline Gabriel and has three children: Candice, Lindsay & Taylor. He currently lives in Gibsonia, PA, and is active in sports, cultural, and community activities. Ed also likes giving back to the community through many volunteer hours & corporate sponsorships.
Throughout the past twenty years, Edward has been part of many organizations. He served on the advisory board of the Clopay Corporation representing the tri-state area, the board & president’s council of the North Suburban Builders Association, and was a member of the Tri-State Construction Network Board of advisors.
Currently, Edward B. Giel is transitioning out of Thomas V. Giel Corporation by selling to his daughter Candice Brown who will be striving to have full ownership of the company in the year 2026. Edward is now moving on to new endeavors to help others develop themselves in business. Part of this mission is joining the board of directors for the Think More – React Less Educational Initiative.
